DARLA TOP in SLATE is dyed with OAK GALL. Oak Galls occur when female wasps burrow within Oak branches, causing a reaction within the wood when it lays eggs. This natural occurence creates a tannin-rich substance that has been used for writing ink, textiles and medicine for centuries.
